# Choose the right org type

> Choose the right organization type: `Developer` or `Merchant`.

There are two types of organizations in Octogen: `Developer` and `Merchant`.

* `Developer`: API access to structured and enriched public product data across any and all sites.

* `Merchant`: Merchant organizations are scoped for one or more catalogs. They can:
  * Steer Octogen's autonomous "catalog enrichment" system.
  * Publish their enriched catalog data to other systems. Eg: as `.md` routes for LLMs.
  * Integrate semantic search, and other catalog-related features into their own products and services.
